Who will you
learn from?

My name is Bárbara Sousa. I’m a teacher with a passion for teaching Brazilian Portuguese to foreigners. I’m Brazilian, from the city of Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais. A state famous for being the home of pão de queijo or “cheese bread”!

I began my studies with an emphasis on my language, Brazilian Portuguese, in the faculty of language and literature at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. I graduated with a degree in Portuguese and went on to do a master’s in linguistics at the same university.

In 2019, I created Speak Brazil, an online school teaching Brazilian Portuguese as a foreign language. Since then, I’ve helped many students become fluent in Portuguese.
