Meu nome é Bárbara Sousa. Sou uma professora apaixonada por ensinar português brasileiro para estrangeiros. Sou brasileira, da cidade de Belo Horizonte, em Minas Gerais. Um estado famoso por ser a terra do pão de queijo! (My name is Bárbara Sousa. I’m a teacher with a passion for teaching Brazilian Portuguese to foreigners. I’m Brazilian, from the city of Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais. A state famous for being the home of pão de queijo or “cheese bread”!)

Comecei meus estudos com ênfase em meu idioma, o português brasileiro, na faculdade de língua e literatura da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Formei-me em português e fiz mestrado em linguística na mesma universidade. (I began my studies with an emphasis on my language, Brazilian Portuguese, in the faculty of language and literature at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. I graduated with a degree in Portuguese and went on to do a master’s in linguistics at the same university.)

Em 2019, criei a Speak Brazil, uma escola on-line que ensina português brasileiro como língua estrangeira. Desde então, tenho ajudado muitos alunos a se tornarem fluentes em português. (In 2019, I created Speak Brazil, an online school teaching Brazilian Portuguese as a foreign language. Since then, I’ve helped many students become fluent in Portuguese.)
